I provide FULL aftercare for all of my clients including second skin and your aftercare balm

• Dermalize is a thin self-adhesive film that provides a moist environment during the initial healing stage of a tattoo, it provides a waterproof, antibacterial barrier that prevents pathogens and external contaminants from entering the wound

• The film is breathable and flexible allowing it to be placed anywhere on the body and should stay put for 24 hours

• It reduces scabbing, risk of infection and rubbing clothes or any other external factor that could damage the tattoo

What to do

• I will apply an absorbent pad under the second skin for you after your appointment, keep this on for 24 hours,

• Try to keep the film on if it is secure, if it starts to peel away then remove it fully and begin washing/creaming the tattoo,

• It is recommended to remove the film In the shower as the warm water will help to loosen the film, peel the film slowly from one corner like you would with a plaster and run warm water under the tattoo film so that the glue loosens and the film comes away

• Please remove slowly with care as ripping it off quickly can damage the skin or tattoo

• If after removing the film you still have glue on your tattoo or the surrounding skin please do not scrub at this with a sponge or towel just use a small amount of cocoa butter to loosen the remaining glue

• After the fIlm is removed wash well with water or a mild liquid soap and rinse well under warm water, then run under cold water for 10 seconds to close up the pores

• Pat the fresh tattoo dry with paper towels or a clean towel

• Wash your tattoo whilst using a small amount of cocoa butter 2 to 3 times a day, this can be done for up to 2 weeks, sometimes due to different factors areas of the tattoo may be stubborn and take a little longer to heal, this is normal too,

• Allergic reactions are very rare but a small number of people with sensitive skin can be allergic to adhesives, if you experience any abnormal skin irritation or a rash or any other symptoms of an allergic reaction please remove and discontinue the use of derma film

I will provide your aftercare balm (a tub of butterluxe brand cocoa butter) for you so you will not need to purchase any aftercare prior to your appointment unless you have a specific brand that you would prefer to use - Please do not use Bepanthen, E45 cream or anything with a perfume on your fresh tattoo!

Don't scratch your tattoo or pick at the flakes if it becomes itchy, this can pull out the ink and cause scarring, just allow any flakes to come off on their own

No Jacuzzis, Swimming Pools, Saunas, Sun Bathing or Sun Beds for at LEAST 2 weeks,

No soaking the new tattoo in the bath for 2 weeks but you can shower as normal

Please try to keep the tattoo out of the sun during the healing process, and once your tattoo is healed I recommend using factor 50 spf whenever you are in the sun to keep your tattoo as bright and vibrant for as long as possible!
